Position Overview
The successful applicant will report to the GIS Officer and will have the following responsibilities :
Key Responsibilities
Data Management: Enter, update, and maintain GIS databases, ensuring data accuracy and integrity; perform quality checks and resolve data conflicts.
Map Creation : Produce maps, spreadsheets, and other visual products using GIS software for various projects and reports.
Spatial Analysis : Assist with basic spatial analysis, identifying patterns and trends, and developing GIS applications.
Field Work : Conduct field surveys using GPS equipment to collect and verify geographic data.
Support & Collaboration : Provide technical support to internal teams and clients; liaise with other departments.
Documentation : Maintain records, files, and reports related to GIS activities.
Supervision: Supervise a team of GPS Operators and GIS Replant Operations staff.
Training : Train GPS Operators on new SOPs, guides, and manuals.
Reporting : Ensure accurate weekly reports are compiled and submitted on time.
Compliance : Ensure work practices comply with company Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) policies.
Requirements
Diploma/Degree in GIS & Remote Sensing.
Background knowledge of Surveying and Lands.
3–5 years’ work experience in the field.
Technical skills : Proficiency in GIS software, GPS devices, database management, and potentially coding.
Analytical skills : Ability to interpret maps, plans, and data; strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and in teams; strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Good communication skills; mature and a good team player.
Willing to work long hours and meet deadlines.
